How to Convert Foreign PPL to FAA PPL

If you possess a Foreign Issued Private Pilot Certificate, we recommend applying for a U.S. pilot certificate/rating on the basis of that license. In order to do this, you must submit a request of Verification of Authenticity of your license to the FAA’s Airmen Certification Branch (AFS-760).

Once the Airmen’s Certification branch has verified the authenticity and the validity of your foreign pilot license, as well as medical certificate, with your foreign civil aviation authority, a verification of authenticity letter will be issued to the designated Flight Standard District Office. A copy of this letter will also be sent to you.

This process can take usually two to three weeks and we recommend completing it as soon as you have enrolled at Career Pilot School, LLC.
