Flight Instructor Course

The 6 Week Flight Instructor Course prepares a pilot for the single engine and instrument phases of Flight Education. While enrolled in this course, you will earn the Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII). Graduates of our CFI courses are employed throughout the United States and world at numerous flight schools.

Each day consists of about 7 to 9 hours of CFI oriented flight education. The Flight Instructor Course utilizes a syllabus to organize the course, however we are always flexible according to our students’ needs. The day typically begins at 9:00 A.M. and ends at 5:00 P.M. If it is necessary, some lessons may extend into the evening hours. However, we do realize that students learn much better when their basic needs are met, therefore we always allow more than enough time for eating, sleeping, and general relaxation. We urge students to explore Kansas City after a long day of flying in order to unwind from the rigors of accelerated flight training.

While enrolled in the Flight Instructor Course, you will initially prepare for your CFI checkride, which will be handled by the Kansas City Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). Upon completion of your CFI, you will subsequently fly with one of our Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs) to complete your CFII.
