FAA-JAA Program
The FAA-JAA Training Program takes you from Student Pilot to FAA Commercial Pilot, JAA Commercial Pilot, and JAA Frozen ATPL plus MCC in less than 12 months. This program is designed for students who wish to open the door to the aviation world by becoming dually qualified by the FAA and JAA. Training takes place in the United States and the United Kingdom or France. With this program, for the same price you will pay in Europe for just a JAA license, you will be FAA and JAA certified upon program completion. Our program is seamless. Whether training in the United States, United Kingdom, or France, we will follow your progress through our structured course to ensure the highest quality experience.
Aviation as we know it was born in the United States when the Wright Brothers took flight at Kitty Hawk over 100 years ago. Since this day and continuing today, the US has been the leader in the aviation world. The US has the largest general aviation infrastructure in the world. You will not find any other place in the world with so many pilots, aircraft, and airports. This country has been made by aviation and for aviation. It is for these reasons that the FAA
Pilot Certification has been recognized worldwide as one of the premium certifications to possess in aviation. It is widely accepted by many airlines and countries in the world. If it is your preference to work in Europe, the JAA conversion will give you the opportunity to work in any country which prefers JAA certification.
In the United States, you will have the ability to fly to major cities such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. The practical experience is endless. You will fly in one of the busiest and most complex airspace in the world which will give you the best skills for your career. Arriving in France or the United Kingdom, with your previous experience in the United States, your transition to flying under the JAA will be relatively easy.
This training program does not just give you the minimum certificates, but it gives you the experience for which the airlines are looking. While flying at Career Pilot School and our affiliates, you will fly at least five type of different aircraft. You will utilize navigation equipment from a basic VOR to a Garmin GPS. And if it is your choice to add the Jet Transition Program, you will learn how to use FMS, autopilots, radar, and an assortment of other jet specific systems. You will gain a tremendous amount of experience flying under instrument flight rules in busy airspace in the US and Europe. Finally, if you arrive here without a firm grasp of the English language, you will leave the program with a strong understanding and ability to use the English language.
If you choose to include the housing in the cost of the program, the program is almost totally all-inclusive. The only out of pocket expenses are airline tickets to and from the school, food, and entertainment.
At Career Pilot School, the relationship between the student and instructor must be excellent. To ensure that we provide quality instruction throughout the program, we maintain a 3:1 student to instructor ratio. We have found when instructors have fewer students, they are able to spend more quality time with each of their students. We also maintain a 3:1 ratio of students to aircraft to ensure each student has an opportunity to fly each day. Tutoring is available if students are facing academic difficulty with the JAA ATPL exam.
For students looking for a more concentrated and less expensive option, we also offer an Accelerated FAA-JAA training program that takes a student from zero time to Single Engine Commercial and Instrument Rating FAA and JAA. In addition, the student will also receive a JAA Frozen ATPL.
Included in the program is a Pilot Kit which includes, but is not limited to: a headset, logbook, uniform shirts, ties, flashlight, E6B flight computer, plotter, and flight bag.
