10 Day Instrument Course
Career Pilot School's 10 Day Instrument Course prepares a pilot for the demands of Instrument flight. Since the majority of General Aviation pilots fly as single pilots, we focus on Single Pilot IFR Operations so you are prepared to venture into instrument conditions upon completion of our course. If your ultimate goal is to fly commercially, we can augment the course with airline-type flows and procedures. Either way, you will leave this course as the best instrument pilot you can be!
It is important to note that this is an extremely intense course of study. Each day consists of about 7 to 10 hours of instrument flight education. Those 7 to 10 hours are not all flying hours. You can expect to fly 4-6 hours per day depending on the conditions, your learning style, and the syllabus. Students should be able to focus entirely on the course of study while enrolled in this program. Successful knowledge retention and skill retention is directly related to the amount of effort a student is able to put forth. If you think you may need a less intense program, email us and we would be more than happy to tailor a program to your needs.
Career Pilot School utilizes a syllabus to organize the course, but we are always flexible according to our students' needs. The day typically begins at 8:30am and ends at 5:00pm. If it is necessary, some lessons may extend into the evening hours. However, we do realize the students learn much better when their basic needs are fulfilled, so we always allow more than enough time for eating, sleeping, and general relaxation. We urge students to explore Kansas City or Lakeport after a long day of flying in order to unwind from the rigors of accelerated flight education.
Career Pilot School is pleased to offers two excellent aircraft models for our 10 Day Instrument Course. We utilize either the Piper Archer or Cessna 172. Both aircraft are the perfect combination of speed and power for instrument training. The skills you learn in the Archer or 172 will translate well to almost all general aviation aircraft. Our Piper Archers and Cessna 172's are equipped with GPS. Each of our aircraft also have dual navigation and communication radios, intercoms, and DME.
The total price of the 10 Day Instrument Course is $9,960.00. This price includes training materials, flight time up to 42 hours, flight instruction, ground instruction, and up to two weeks of housing. If the course cannot be completed within the hours advertised, the student has the option of paying for extra flight time and flight instruction at a per hour cost.
